surya 5/31/2001 12:10:42 AM ( 1 of 15 ) Government or people in power attack people whom they donot like or may be who are truthful,as of today.No body in power likes opposition.But one thing they donot remeber is that there is a positive to it.The present govt is here,because a impartial press reported about previous govt.Tommorrow when present govt people are ordinary people requiring security from then govt enemies,who might want to be vindictive on them,then impartial,fearless truthful people will only stand for them.Politics is "hu tu tu" today,and tamil nadu can come to delhi.Only truthful,good people(who are few) expose evils in society,and try to do good to society,stand for fairness,truth,justice.But if system breaks,it breaks for everyone.In riots,good/evil common is looted/killed and only good oppose/fight riot creating evil.Psyche of good should be understood.And people in power should be beware of evil flatterers,who mislead people in power(are flattering in face,but slime/truthful at back).Meaning what truthful says at face,smart flatterers donot say at face,but at back).Tommorrow if nation security is compromised,only truthful people will fight expose powerful enemy(inside/outside),not people who lackey people in power(for invadors,british ruled/invaded india by local lackeys).And rulers can commit mistakes,or can be killed through deceit(by own near ones),as lot of our rulers have been killed.But a truthful person would have saved them,and passed them information.Meaning there are very few honest professionals(not in image,but in reality) in India,world and rulers should understand ,listen to them also,for even one day a white collar/black collar mafia (how powerful) needs a honest government politican,offical,press,executive to protect his life,money,children,wife,reputation etc.Lackey,dishonest people will listen,be bought by other powerful dishonest.And dishonest,untruthful are not sincere to anyone,only to power,money etc,but are flatterer,untruthful,sweet on face.And truthful says that because he likes truth ,and do good to people and knows how dangerous corruption can be for society and rulers are in society.Many rulers of past,kept truthful,bitter speaking brahmins as advisors,for one shakuni causes Mahabharta(fiction),and even friends/relatives donot know that who/what caused there destruction. |

In order for the media to avail the opportunity of freespeech, the media itself should educate the citizens - about the importance of freespeech and about the dangers of stifling freespeech. Without making all Indians aware of these reasons, free speech will continue to be violated by uncontrolled emotion and unreasonable fears. Successive governments will continue to use this directly or indirectly unless and until it is opposed by everyone. The media has everything at stake in making sure that people oppose such oppression. Besides, why blame the government when sometimes media persons themselves participate in absolving violators of free speech of their sins, whenever it is convenient? For example, take a look at what Pritish Nandy wrote in response to the attack on Deepa Mehta's filming in Varanasi. |
